Most health experts agree that health drinks have electrolytes and sodium that are beneficial to professional athletes and marathoners, but have little value to the average user.

Fluids supplying 60 to 100 calories per 8 ounces helps to supply the needed calories required for continuous performance. Fluids are so important for the body and specially when you are dehydrated.Water is the best and sugar in drinks is a big NO NO ... thanks for the update and stating facts about the unhealthy health drinks.
I think most of it is gimmick and there is barely any truth in it.But I see them being sold out in great numbers.
I use sports drinks,and I say, it's truth.
